It snowed over two feet this weekend and the outdoors are looking beautiful and new, so it’s hard to remember at this particular moment, but winter can be depressing. When the leaves have all fallen and it’s freezing and cloudy outside for days on end, it can really start to dampen the creative spirit.
Katie Ackley and I decided to push against that and stay creative and inspired by doing some personal work: an editorial photoshoot with Bethany Conner as our model and muse. Bethany is usually “behind the scenes” on our team, doing truly inspired work on headpieces, crowns, shoulder pieces, whatever I dream up for a shoot I feel like Bethany can create. She’s also totally invaluable as my shoot assistant. This time, though, we wanted her to be front & center.
The inspiration behind this shoot, aside from Bethany herself, is a fashion take on a deer in the woods at wintertime. I think it’s pretty magical, enjoy the photos.
