One of my favorite things to do with photography is collaborate with artists branding portraits for their websites and marketing. These aren’t traditional, run-of-the-mill headshots. We talk about their art and what they want to communicate about themselves with these photos, and then piece together all aspects of the shoot based on desired outcomes. It’s so fun and interesting to work with other creatives (and I love deepening my Annapolis-Baltimore artist network, too!).
This particular shoot is from my artist portrait session with Lauren O’Brien, a clay artist here in the Annapolis area. We decided to shoot at her home on the water, which is a big part of the inspiration for her work. Outdoor portraits seemed to fit with her personality so we took the pottery wheel outside and photographed her surrounded by the views she sees and lives in every day.
